The inspiring and exciting story of how Robin Knox-Johnston became the first man to sail non-stop around the world on his own little ketch Suhaili, in 1969. It was hailed at the time with great joy and the book was a huge best-seller. The dogged resourcefulness of the man in the face of repeated gear losses and failures was awesome, as Ellen MacArthur would surely say. This re-issue of the book is a wonderful reminder that the tradition of solo achievement at sea for Britons goes at least as far back as the 1960s.
