This publication is dedicated to developing ocean literacy as an important area of education, science, communication, and sustainable ocean use. The book examines international initiatives, educational projects, digital and multimodal tools, scientific communication, cultural heritage, youth programs, and practices for engaging society in marine conservation. Special attention is paid to the ocean's connection to climate and biodiversity, as well as the role of schools, universities, national networks, small island states, coastal communities, and global expeditions. The materials presented demonstrate how ocean literacy helps foster responsible attitudes toward the ocean, support a sustainable "blue" economy, and achieve the goals of the UN Decade of Ocean Science.
