This Training Manual is suitable for use on board SOLAS vessels of various types and larger non-SOLAS vessels.
The purpose of this Manual is to provide all crew members with general and ship specific information and instructions concerning
- fire safety practice and precautions;
- instruction in fire fighting;
- the meaning of the ship’s alarms;
- the operation and use of fire fighting systems and equipment, fire doors and dampers;
- information concerning escape routes.
Additionally, this Manual may be used as a framework and reference source forthose whose duty it is to give instruction to others in the practice of fire fighting and use of equipment.
