The book examines the development of renewable energy sources in the European Union, with a focus on marine energy such as offshore wind farms (OWFs). She outlines the EU's ambitious goals to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, including France's plan to install 40 GW of offshore wind energy. The book details two OWFs projects off the French coast in Normandy, including technical solutions for choosing turbine bases depending on sea conditions. The hydrodynamic effects resulting from the construction of these stations and their impact on marine ecosystems, especially on the distribution of larvae and interaction with benthic and pelagic species, are also discussed. The study includes modelling flows around the bases and assessing larval transport, which is important for understanding the impact of offshore wind farms on marine life.
