This operating manual has been written and produced by LGE Process Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as LGE), to describe the basic operational requirements for the subject vessel trading in various cargoes and to briefly outline the components comprising the cargo handling system. Appendix A of Volume 1 contains general technical information which will be of use to operators, both with and without LPG tanker experience, and gives an indication of the performance potential of both the system and some of the components within the system. Basically, the manual is a guide to system conditions and should not be confused with detailed equipment descriptions that can be found in the manufacturer's handbooks. Where considered essential, certain safety aspects are highlighted - the comments in this manual however are not intended as a substitute for a complete ship's Safety Manual and/or Total Quality Manual and good safe working practices adopted there from. All personnel involved with the operation of this type of vessel should be clearly aware of the hazardous nature of the products carried. Officers responsible for the actual operation of the cargo plant should be fully experienced in the design philosophy, operational parameters, and limitations of the equipment under their control. The prime requisite for the safe and successful operation of the cargo system is an understanding of the principles of the system, the application of said principles and perhaps the most important criterion, the execution and supervision of operations by conscientious and well informed personnel.
