It has been 10 years since the 1-st International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS) took place in St. Petersburg. Tne exhibition has gained a high reputation among Russian and foreign sailors, shipbuilders, shipborne equipment and weapon specialists. IMDS enjoys a similarly high-profile as Euronaval and IMDEX Asia, which makes then the great three world’s leading exhibitions and forums of naval equipment.
We believe that IMDS 2013 will not come short of dreams of its participants and guests, who are likely to come in large numbers. In keeping up with traditions, the LENEXPO Exhibition Complex that covers over 17,000 m2, as well as open areas, water area of the Gull of Finland, and piers of the Seaport will accommodate the IMDS 2013 exhibition section. The event is sponsored by Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Defense, Foreign Ministry, Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, Government of Saint Petersburg, and Rosoboronexport. The Morskoy Salon JSC is the organizer of the show. The company well deserves its fame. Russia's leading designers, manufacturers and suppliers ot naval equipment will put their products on display, including the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Rostec State Corporation, Elektropribor Central Research Institute, Avrora S&PA, Krylov State Scientific Center, Morinformsystem-Agat Corporation, and others.
The opportunity to see real ships and vessels is the most tempting. To maintain the high standard, 28 ships, craft and vessels of the Russian Navy, Border Guard, participants and navies of other countries will be displayed. Representatives of official foreign delegations will be able to visit the Rzhevka range to have a look at shipborne gun mounts and small arms firing live ammunition. The Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic display teams are due to be at the show to impress guests with their outstanding skills.
The long and the short of it is, there will be a great show. We sincerely congratulate all participants and guests!
