Издание на английском языке
The book is dedicated to the history of the German U-boat service during World War II and focuses on the combat path of the U-564 submarine and its commander Reinhard "Teddy" Suren. It describes in detail the daily life of the crew, the underwater war in the Atlantic, combat campaigns, attacks on Allied convoys and anti-submarine warfare. Considerable attention is paid to the personality of the commander, his character, leadership style and place in the Kriegsmarine system. The book is placed in a broad historical context of the naval war and is complemented by a large number of rare archival photographs, many of which have not been previously published. The book combines elements of military history, biography and a documentary photo album, allowing for a deeper understanding of reality.
